Prospex 1968 Re-Interpretation SLA023J1
The overall design of this watch is inspired by the Seiko 1968 Diver’s 300m watch – which was the highest of world standards hi-beat calibre and was used for the first climb from Japan to Mount Everest. Many details have been upgraded and updated in this modern timepiece. The watch features the high-grade 8L35 mechanical caliber that has been especially designed for divers watches. It consists of 192 parts using precise machining techniques and is hand assembled and adjusted by skilled craftsmen and women at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Morioka in the north of Japan.
Seiko Prospex watches are designed for sports lovers and adventure seekers in the water, in the sky or on land. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative watchmaking has changed global dive watch standards.
Seiko began as a clock repair store in Tokyo in 1881 with a purpose to pursue watchmaking excellence and has grown into a global timekeeping presence. Renowned for horological innovation, Seiko timepieces deliver precisely beautiful Japanese aesthetics, brought to life through in-house manufacture.
